4.
During a taped statement Davis said that on Wednesday he bought a toy black cap handgun from Wal-Mart that had a brown grip and red cap at the end of the barrel.
Thursday morning he woke up and wrote a demand note, he said, that he intended to pass the note to the bank teller demanding money.
He then drove to Walgreen's, which is right across the street from SunTrust and parked his vehicle there, he said.
Then he entered the bank and passed the note to the teller, which stated that she was to put the money in a bag so that he 'did not have to shoot anybody.'
'The teller read the note and looked back at the suspect,' the arrest affidavit said.
It was then that he lifted his shirt showing the brown grip of a handgun, an image that was captured forever by one of the bank's security cameras, then circulated throughout the community.
The teller took the note back near the drive-through window and grabbed some cash from one of the drawers, took the money to the suspect and put it in a bag he provided.
Davis then fled the bank on foot, heading west through the Walgreen's parking lot and back to his vehicle that was parked on the west side of Walgreen's
