Birminghtam, Ala. (PRWEB) September 4, 2008 -- A former employee of Alabama based Regions Financial Corporation has filed a lawsuit against Regions alleging that the Bank s actions denying her workers compensation claim, and later terminating her employment, amounted to outrageous conduct in violation of Alabama law.

The lawsuit is filed by Angela Whitfield, who worked as a bank teller for over 16 years, until she was held-up at gunpoint in an armed robbery in June of 2007. At the time, Mrs. Whitfield had recently been promoted to head teller and consistently received outstanding performance reviews for her dedicated work ethic

Detectives are searching for a woman who robbed a bank wearing sunglasses Thursday afternoon.
The woman, who took off the glasses while she was at the counter, simply demanded money. She showed no weapon and did not slide the teller a note.
After taking an undisclosed amount of cash at about 4:30 p.m., the woman ran out the south side of the bank and entered the passenger side of a late 1980s or early '90s red Chevy Blazer.
