A year after a jury cleared him of tricking a credit union teller into giving him $279 from an account of someone with a similar name, Sherman D. Allen Jr. says he is still trying to put his life back together.
He spent more than a month in jail. He says he can't find a steady job. He has almost no money

Jones pleaded guilty to 9 counts of bank robbery, 10 firearm counts and two counts of conspiracy, in a plea agreement arranged by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Leonid Feller and Mark Chasteen. He admitted robbing or arranging robberies at 11 banks in metro Detroit and Flint between October 2005 and November 2007 that netted more than $760,000.
He also admitted shooting a teller in the leg during a Nov. 14, 2007, robbery that netted $1,600 at Chase Bank in Sterling Heights, and wounding a Detroit police officer who approached a Cadillac Escalade in which Jones was sleeping Dec. 11, 2007.
The gang earned its name by carrying AK47 assault rifles during the robberies.
Three other gang members have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing: Terez Deon Rivers, 33; Frederick Samuel Humes Jr., 29, and Sparkle Eldridge, 23, all of Detroit
