Baltimore County police today released a composite sketch of a man wanted in the robbery of a Provident Bank branch on Aug. 12.
According to witnesses, the man came into the bank -- located inside the Shopper's supermarket in the 11100 block of Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills -- shortly after 11 a.m., approached a teller and demanded cash, police said. According to police, he did not display a weapon but threatened to shoot the teller if she didn't comply. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and he left. Responding officers set up a perimeter around the bank and searched the area but did not find the man.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing an orange/red stripped baseball cap with a sports logo on it. He had an orange/red shirt with blue jeans and a brown/black shoulder bag over his left shoulder.
Anyone with information on the man is asked to call Baltimore County police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587). Calls to Metro Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000



Santa Cruz, CA -
A bank robber is on the loose in Santa Cruz. Monday afternoon, a man walked into a bank on morrissey avenue and passed a note to the teller saying he had a gun and demanded money. The teller handed him some cash and the man took off. Police searched the area with the help of a K-9 unit, but could not find him. No one was inujured during the robbery.
